Comic Zeal Comic Reader 4
Imagine holding a comic library in your hands; hundreds of comics beautifully rendered by the iPad's gorgeous display.
With Comic Zeal, you don't have to imagine.
Comic Zeal has a beautiful and simple interface designed by renowned graphics firm, Elixir. Comics glide over a luxurious background, bookmarks and bags show you which comics you've started reading and which you've finished. Boxes let you know there's a whole series just a tap away.
You can read your own comics and graphic novels, or use a wifi connection to download hundreds of Golden Age Comics and Jim Shelley's Flashback Universe for free.
Reading comics is a breeze, we've got the best zoom implementation of any reader. Use pinching to set the zoom level and Comic Zeal remembers it for the rest of the comic, page to page.
Press the arrow watermark to bring up the reading panel, quickly scroll through the comic using the scroller or take a screenshot of the comic to use as your iPad wallpaper.
Don't like the arrow watermark? no problem. Turn it off in the iPad's Settings application. A double-tap will bring up the reading panel instead. Talking of settings, you can select if you're left or right handed and if you prefer to use a single or double tap to zoom.
Push a comic page left or right to change pages.
DOWNLOADING COMIC BOOKS TO IPAD
1. Connect the iPad to your computer.
2. iTunes should open automatically, but if it doesn't open iTunes.
3. In the left column, click on Devices > (your iPad)
4. Click on the "Apps" tab.
5. Scroll down from the "Sync Apps" section to the "File Sharing" section.
6. Click on "Comic Zeal".
7. Drop your comic files into the "Comic Zeal 4 Documents" section.
8. Open Comic Zeal on your iPad and it will complete the import!
Comics take around 7 seconds each to import. Please keep in mind that whatever comics you add, iTunes will want to back up. So don't add tens or gigabytes at once or your next sync will take a while!
Once on the iPad you can group comics by pressing 'Edit', select more than one comic, press 'Move', then select the 'Other ...' option and enter the name of the new group. You'll have to tap the area to the right of the 'Series' entry to get the cursor up.
We're working on iPad PDF import so for now use ComicZeal Sync to convert pdf files into .cbi fles (you'll find them in your 'My Documents' directory under ComicZeal_Sync) and import them into iTunes as described above. Check out the bitolithic.com website (link below) for the downloads and instructions.

Dearest users, we've fixed a memory leak that was causing crashes and have sped up imports a LOT, around 7 seconds per comic. We import the comics first so the page changes are fast and smooth.
